Brick & Yard Supervisor

1. General
a. Reports to the Director of Operations
b. Provides support to maximize the productivity of the stackers
c. Performs Quality Assurance training & inspections
d. Responsible for the overall operation and safety of the production yard
e. Operate heavy equipment on a daily basis to support yard operations

2. Safety
a. Monitor and enforce that stackers are wearing safety glasses at all times when within 20’ of any active work area
b. Monitor and enforce that Stackers are wearing steel toed footwear at all times
c. Monitor employees safety practices and enforce the safety policy in Employee Manual
d. Responsible for overall maintenance of safe working conditions in yard.
e. Reports injuries via company process

3. Security
a. Secure the production yard at the end of every day.
b. Communicate with the yard owner on a regular basis to maintain good relationship.
c. Monitor gates, fences, barriers, signage, etc. to maintain a secure site.
d. Identify and report any security improvement opportunities.
e. Report any suspected incidences of security problems.

4. Maintenance Activities
a. Manage and/or perform equipment repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment; loaders, screener, air compressors, hand tools, etc.
b. Responsible for maintaining organization & cleanliness of yard including disposal of trash and waste material.
c. Continuously monitor and improve the site drainage to prevent any standing water.

5. Authority
a. Make recommendations for hiring & termination of stacking team members
b. Stop work if conditions are unsafe – weather, equipment, etc.
c. Monitor quality and provide direction to stackers as required up to and including directing pallets to be disassembled and restacked.
d. Review and approve production log, daily stacking log and timesheets.
e. Send stacker(s) home with written warning if not following protocol. Yard Supervisor cannot terminate employees.

6. Support Stackers
a. Maintain adequate raw material on sorting table(s).
b. Deliver raw material with a minimum of unwanted dirt, sand, stone etc.
c. Remove and store pallets as quickly as possible after they are wrapped.
d. Remove production waste material expeditiously.
e. Help train new stackers to maximize their production and quality.

7. Maintain Quality
a. Monitor quality of product on pallets, stacking and wrapping integrity.
b. Direct Stackers as required to maintain required product quality.
c. Dispose of material that does not meet quality standards.

8. Support Inventory system
a. Transmit Production, Shipping & Daily Stacking Logs to office weekly or as requested.
b. Perform physical inventory counts as requested.

9. Monitor Production Supplies
a. Send purchase requests to office as required to maintain adequate supplies.

10. Shipping Process
a. Properly load product on trucks.
b. Ensure driver secures load properly and places tarp on load as required. Straps in the correct location on curb as not to break it.
c. Maintain safe conditions of yard and truck during winter weather. Deck of truck to be clear of all ice and snow before allowing truck into our yard.
d. Follow Packing Slip with detailed instructions.
e. Supply Bill of Lading for LTL truck driver & call office with pro number.
f. Complete Shipping Log & return to office.

11. Material Procurement Projects
a. Assist Director of Operations in planning Material Procurement projects.
b. Assemble material & staff to execute the Material Procurement plan.
c. Execute the plan while making improvements to the plan on the fly with the Director of Operations.

Brick & Stone Stacker

General
- Clean & Stack reclaimed pavers, cobblestones, curbing, etc.
- Properly wrap and label completed pallets.
- Maintain quality standards for palletized product.

Safety
- Work diligently to maintain a safe work site.
- Wear safety glasses at all times when within 20’ of any active work area.
- Wear Steel toed safety footwear at all times.
- Follow safety policy in Employee Manual.
- Maintenance Activities
- Shovel waste material from front of sorting table daily.
- Perform maintenance activities per Daily Maintenance Checklist as directed by the Yard Supervisor.

Authority
- Make recommendations for stacking team members.
- Stop work if conditions are unsafe.
- Coordinate With Operator.
- Signal Operator when more bricks are needed.
- Signal Operator when completed pallets need to be removed.
- Work with Operator to increase stacking efficiency, e.g. load sorting table with all the same type of paver if possible.
- Alert Operator when supplies levels are low e.g. stretch wrap, chisels, pallets, etc.
- Follow Operators direction on quality, safety, and other protocols.

Physical Requirements
- Be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis during the work day.
- Capable of stacking 10 lb pavers or 20 lb cobblestones 40 hrs per week.
- Able to work outside in various weather conditions.

Experience Requirements
- Able to follow directions from Operator.
- Stack (count) the proper number of pavers/stones per pallet.
- Operate basic hand tools such as hammers and air chisels.

Outside Sales Rep / Distributor Support

Position Summary: Manages existing customer base and develops new sales leads both directly and through distributors. Provides oversight for entire sale from receiving the lead through payment in accordance with the Company’s procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Identify new accounts through cold calling and following all sales leads.
- Identify, evaluate and develop new sales channels.
- Maintain frequent contact with existing customers, architects, designers and consultants to continue to promote our products.
- Monitor orders to ensure they are delivered in a timely manner.
- Review weekly production log to accurately assess available product.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork including sales orders, proposals, and shipping orders and submits in a timely fashion.
- Perform random job site reviews to evaluate progression of the job, quality of product, quality of installation and overall satisfaction of client.
- When job is complete, obtain pictures as required.
- Team with Office Manager to efficiently handle problems and quickly respond to customer needs.
- Review and approve shipping invoices for payment.
- Participate in the development of marketing materials including web site, trade show materials, printed advertisements, article publication and publicity events.
- Support design professionals with technical product knowledge, product recommendations, product availability, samples, presentations, sales training, trade shows, marketing materials and transferring sales leads.
- Participate in the development of strategic plan for new territories. Monitor and report on the outcome.
- Produce regional sales forecasts, strategic plans and new product recommendations.
- Actively participate in the development of the corporate strategic plan.
- Where needed, coach installation crews to maximize productivity while ensuring quality work.
- Team with the Credit Department to gather information for new accounts and help collect past due accounts.
- Actively participate in sales meetings and any training sessions.

Required Skills
- Proven Sales Experience required.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
- Prior construction/masonry experience helpful.
- Solid oral and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational & planning skills.
- Willing to travel and work a varied schedule including some Saturdays.

Physical Capabilities
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to alternate between long periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to tolerate bending at the waist, squatting, raising arms above shoulder level, pushing/pulling motions and the general physical labor required to participate in project installation on a very infrequent basis.
